I saw
the trailer for the new 3d animation EPIC when I attended the premiere for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
. The visuals were certainly pleasing to the eyes with all the various shades of green and veridian on-screen. I kept trying to guess what the movie was about while being captivated by the soundtrack. In case you're wondering, the song is What if the Storm Ends by Snow Patrol. I just wish they had thought of a better title though. The word alone just brings into light a slew of expectations, well I hope it lives up to its title.
Epic is a movie created by the filmmakers and writers of Ice Age and Rio, both movies that I really liked. With an impressive resume, I can't help but look forward to this movie.
Epic is about a teenager who was magically transported into a hidden forest where she discovers a raging battle between the forces of good and evil and those who are trying to protect nature and hundreds of lives. The voice cast includes Steven Tyler, Beyonce Knowles, Colin Farell, Amanda Seyfried, Josh Hutcherson, Pitbull, Johnny Knoxville, Jason Sudeckis and Blake Anderson.
It will be a long wait though, Epic won't grace cinemas until May 2013 to be distributed by 20th Century Fox. For the meantime, watch the EPIC movie trailer below.
