A few days ago, former president George W. Bush, gave an interview at the Hoover Institute to reminisce over his presidential years. Although Bush, has laid low since his exit from The White House I make sure to watch he his rare public appearances, because you never know what may come out of this Texans mouth.
In this interview, I was once again appalled at the choice of words that this former president chose to use. George Bush spoke of his presidency, by declaring his entire eight years were awesome because he was "famous" and "powerful". Seriously, his exact words were, "I really don't want to be in the public eye anymore, and feel a certain sense of liberation not being out there. Eight years was awesome, and you know I was famous and I was powerful -- but I have no desire for fame and power anymore."
I ask you, what former or sitting president, who has driven a country into a second great depression, started a unnecessary war for the purposes of attaining oil while killing innocent lives everyday, and never followed through on his promises to the American people -- what person simply says his presidency was great because he attained fame and power? The next question to this man should have been, "So you only ran for the presidency to attain fame and power, and not to help the American people?"
Why does George Bush even talk anymore? Does he give these interviews on purpose as a way to really show the American people, that he never has and never will give a damn about this country? Bush stated in the interview, that in 20 years or so no one will remember his presidency and what happened. Really? Is that because he assumes Americans will eventually stop talking about it, or is it because the majority of textbooks are printed and distributed from Texas -- and recently Republicans were trying to rewrite history books after the election of President Obama? So would the quick fix to forget, simply be a history rewrite to brainwash the next generation? Click below for more information on Republicans rewriting school books. Bush can bank on Americans forgetting past history, but as long as we the people stay engaged in politics -- in 20 years George W. Bush will still be known as, 'the president that lead America into a second great depression'. There's really no escaping that catastrophic category.
