James Wolcott shares my general feeling about the new "Dallas": 'I cashed out about twenty minutes into the reboot-revival of [the program], whose original should have had a do-not-resuscitate bracelet, the grinning specters of George W. Bush and Rick Perry putting to rest any cowboy romance Texas might have had. Wasn't there talk a few years ago of a "Dallas" feature film starring John Travolta? At least we were spared that, and we should been spared this, though Patrick Duffy and Larry Hagman (always loved Larry Hagman, whose moving performance in Paul Mazursky's Harry & Tonto showed what he was capable of with not flashing a wicked gleam) made welcome returns.'
