Join us for cocktails and an international tray of appetizers as Porchez shares his experiences as graphic designer turned type designer turned type director. Porchez is an honorary President of the Association Typographique Internationale, and has received numerous awards including the Prix Charles Peignot (1998), awards from the Bukva:raz international competition (2001) and the Creative Review Type Awards (2006) as well as a Certificate of Excellence in Type Design at the TDC2 2010, a Designpreis 2011 Nominee Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany 2011 and the design prize during the 41e Palmarés of the Club des directeurs artistiques. Porchez is probably best known for releasing the new typefaces for the French evening newspaper, Le Monde (1994) but has designed custom typefaces for customers such as Beyoncé Knowles, Costa Crocieres, France Télécom, Peugeot, RATP (Public Transport in Paris), and distributes his retail typefaces internationally via typofonderie.com.
