Matthew Knowles is a business. Man.
We all know him as the father of the uber-talented Beyonce Knowles Carter and the former manager of Destiny's Child, but did you ever wonder what happened to him after the Destiny's Child split?
Mr. Knowles is still managing girl groups and actually had a reality show debut internationally last fall. The MTV reality series, "Breaking From Above" just premiered in the U.S. on Monday. The show follows the music executive's new group, From Above.
From Above is made up of five U.K. singers: Ashley, Daisy, Seyi, Chelsey and Monique. The show follows them as they go through the artist development process which includes everything from vocal training, to working out to choreography and lesson in interacting with the media.
Knowles, is both the creator and executive producer, of the show. He hopes airing it in the U.S. will bring more exposure to the new group. He's hoping to work the same magic for From above as he did with Destiny's Child, Blaque, and Trin-i-tee 5:7.
And although From Above is from the U.K, most of the filming of the show took place in the U.S.– more specifically, Houston– where Knowles, staff, and the groups' glam squad resides.
"Our goal is continue to build [From Above's] brand internationally and use the U.S. launch as an introduction to the group and their music," Knowles explained.
"Breaking From Above" can be seen on Teen Nick daily through June 29 at 8:30 PM/ET.
